UPDA complete the re-zoning project for Fereej Kulaib and Fereej Bin Omran  

The Urban Planning & Development Authority (UPDA) announces the completion of the re-zoning project for Fereej Kulaib (Zone 35) and Fereej Bin Omran (Zone 37). Permitted land uses will be changed from residential villas to residential apartment buildings. The land use alteration was announced on Monday, June 23, 2008 by Eng. Mr. Mohammed Abdul Qader Abu Erhama, Director of Planning of the UPDA, during the press conference held in UPDA premises in the presence of Mr. Ali Ahmed Al-Shamlan, Head of Local Planning Section within the Planning Department.

Mr. Abu Erhama announced that permitted land uses for Fereej Kulaib will be changed from single family residential (G+1+P) to residential apartment buildings (G+2). For land uses in Fereej Bin Omran, which currently allows single family residential (G+1+P), new uses will include residential apartment buildings (G+2) and (G+3).

Akhor Alwakra Exhibition  

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassem Bin Jabor Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the UPDA is pleased to announce that His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman Bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture and Head of the Steering Committee of Qatar National Master Plan, declared the official opening of the exhibition "The Master Plans for Development of Al Khor and Al Wakra ". The exhibition was organized by the Urban Planning & Development Authority and commenced on Thursday 15th May 2008 and will be open to the public until Thursday May 22nd, at the Qatar International Exhibition Centre.

Sub: Review of Transportation Master Plan

UPDA Organizes “How to Address the Public” Session 

The Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA), in collaboration with the Middle East Studies and Training Centre (MESTC), organized a training course on “How to Address the Public”, on 16th February, at the Doha Sheraton’s Hotel Conference Hall. Present at the session were 11 participants of UPDA reception officers and similar employees having direct contract with the public.

1st conference on Doha Planning Project Concludes Sessions 

The first conference on Greater Doha Area1 Planning project concluded its sessions on 8th September 2005, following a series of discussion and deliberations that lasted for two days on means of Urban Planning of the area located between the Corniche and the D-Ring Road in attendance were 10 international consultancy companies that received the invitation to exhibit their expertise in ideas and  presentation proposals to meet with the standard of the current urban planning and development being witnessed by the state of Qatar.
